AWA Interactive On-Site Workshops and Clinics

Be Hands On, and learn How To

Log Home Optimization: Durability, Aesthetic Presentation and Energy Efficiency

General Information

AWA Interactive, On-site, Workshops and Clinics are just that. You will engage yourself with the tasks of a log home as we do, “hands on” and on location. Rain or shine we will advance through to the last stage of the project. Our projects are selected for optimal conditions for that period of the year. The homeowner is involved as a component of the process, just like in real life. We aim for the experience to not require more than one week of your time. Some projects will vary a couple of days either way. Classroom instruction and discussion will be important elements of the process, but are limited so as to stay in balance with field applications. So many course offerings lecture you through. We won’t.

Each workshop includes its own specific agenda. Review the project(s) listed to find the one right for you. All workshops will include criteria specific to homeowners, contractors and producers. Beyond introduction we will discuss products, equipment, tools, safety, organization, management, execution, clean-up, closure (exit) and follow-up. Staged circuit stations allow us to build the workshops specific to group size. Workshops have capacity limitation.

Who should attend?

Making the decision to attend our workshop is a decision worth exploration and qualification. Professionals alike will arrive with high expectations, and we intend to deliver. These courses will range from a group setting, to one-on-one coaching, depending on what is available and what is in demand. Homeowners, we require you either own, are building, or are in a commitment to build a wood, log or timber frame home. Producers, enroll your dealers, technical advisors, salesmen or general contractor representatives seeking to gain knowledge beyond simply delivering a “packaged home”. Our system encourages direct benefits to those focused on the integration of value, synchronized with personalized customer service.

Why AWA Interactive?

If you are among those who appreciate wood structures, then you probably have a genuine appreciation for dimension, texture, structure, and design. Experiencing a physical task, working with your hands, allows your senses to work together, forming new memory. The kinesthetic approach develops your skills in concert, particularly when working with media found in nature. Wood provides an opportunity to manipulate color, texture, size and form. Turning your creative ideas into reality, leads to many internal gratifications such as pride, ownership and accomplishment.

All treasured wood homes deserve to be legacies. If the investment, laid out to construct such homes, is compromised in presentation and durability, then what was the point? With increasing frequency, we are estimating residential projects under four years old in contrast to the older restorations so many would expect us to be conducting. Clearly it has become common place to compromise protection from the beginning. From cedar siding, to complete log, homeowners and contractors alike have been introduced to three or four different prepatory and finishing concepts, involving perhaps one to ten different products, product brands and unique protocols to go with those brands. Altogether, selection and direction can be confusing, especially when products don’t work. It should be simpler than this!

AWA Interactive simplifies the care for a wood home to a clear and manageable approach. We know you’re searching for a system that achieves sophisticated looking results, followed by affordable and reasonable steps for care and maintenance. There’s nothing new here except the application of innovation and efficiency. Today’s wood home includes many architectural options. If not managed properly, these basic features become liabilities and ultimately costly mistakes. We are here to help you avoid the financial and emotional pain summoned by these mistakes.
